Project A (Take home)

The goal of this art project is to have you complete the following:

• Make an Eid Card that you can send to your family and friends in June this year.

Guidelines:

1. Use a blank card if you can find one.
2. On the front, draw the art or picture you would like – a mosque, a new moon, or something from nature, relating to Eid
3. You can use crayons, water or oil, whichever you prefer
4. Inside, you can include a ayah (use your calligraphy skills) from the Quran pertaining to fasting or to Eid celebrations
5. Last, make sure, you can copy the card to produce many more to send to all of your relatives – or to even sell as a fundraiser for the Sunday School
6. You can talk to your parents and friends, but please do your own work!  We may select the best cards from each age group for recognition.

Project B (In Class)

In-Class on Saturday, May 5 (Sat, 10 am – 12 pm) The goal of this project is to come together to School, not for studying but to experience “experiential learning in art and creativity” and for having some fun as you learn. Guidelines:

1. The art supplies will be provided
2. You will be given instructions by your teachers and others on the theme of the art project
3. You may be given some lessons on how to write beautifully in Arabic – calligraphy
4. You may be asked the work to prepare a poster with your name (and that of other family members) in beautiful artistic Arabic – something you can hang in your room.  You will have full artistic freedom to make your poster look pretty.

If interested in participating, in one of both of these projects, please sign up. On the graduation day, inshallah we will find a space to post up your art piece so that your parents and other guests can enjoy.
